I'm hoping to learn a little bit more about this fella in the photos. His name I think was Jack (which could be short for any number of things of course).
The unit patch indicates the 11th Airborne, a unit which served with some distinction in the Pacific Theater in WWII, though I'm not sure he was in the 11th during or after the war.
From the look of it, he likely just graduated from jump school recently (unit citation on uniform, jump wings, no rank) and maybe was getting ready to ship out: this photo appears to have been taken in a photo booth- something very common around military bases.
If you have any information, I sure would appreciate knowing it. If you want that information kept private, just let me know and I won't say a word.
